Product review: Logitech ConferenceCam Connect

In a world of start-ups, people who work remote or work in a small office the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect is the ideal solution for all your video conference call needs. Its portable, wireless and ease of use is simple especially if you are a skype user.

What is so cool about the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect?

The Logitech ConferenceCam has enterprise-quality video, a USB and Bluetooth speakerphone, and a wireless screen mirror projection. The HD 1080p video and 360 sound meet the requirements of portability, affordability and optimization for small workgroups. The Logitech ConferenceCam Connect videoconference solution also offers multi-device connectivity and sets up in a snap.

When unboxing the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect not only was it a beautiful product but it was very light in weight measuring at just 27.02 ounces. Its width is only 2.95 inches (75 mm), its height is just 11.98 inches (304.2 mm) and its depth is 2.95 inches (75 mm). The remote for the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect fits seamlessly that most may not realize there is a wireless remote attached. It also has a 10-foot range which is perfect for a small meeting space or conference room.

The system requirements for the Logitech ConferenceCam are Windows 7 or 8.1, Mac OS X 10.7 or higher, Google Chromebook Version 29.0.1547.70, Platform 4319.79.0 with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB RAM or more, hard drive space for recorded videos, and USB 2.0 port (USB 3.0 ready). When using the ConferenceCam screen mirroring feature you must have an Android 4.3 or higher and Windows 8.1 or higher. These should already be installed before utilizing the ConferenceCam. One thing to note when using the Logitech ConferenceCam with Skype is to make sure to change your webcam settings to ConferenceCam Connect or it will not pair with any of your devices.

I tested it on my PC first by simply connecting it using Skype and the USB cord initially. Next the ConferenceCam was tested wireless on an iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy. Each device that was tested with the ConferenceCam synced well and almost effortlessly.

When on a conference call utilizing different mobile devices with the Logitech ConferenceCam there was a huge difference in camera quality. It was not grainy like I noticed on 2 other mobile devices. It was so crisp in comparison.

Logitech also nailed it with the sound quality. After testing it in different ranges from 1 to 5 feet it was flawless. The Logitech ConferenceCam is definitely your conference call solution especially if you have ever been on a conference call and have to ask your colleagues to repeat what they just said.

There was only two flaws that were noticeable with the Logitech ConferenceCam. Though the remote is seamless on the Logitech ConferenceCam itself it sometimes falls off if you are careless or just throw it in your purse or bag. The other is something very minor; if there more than one smart phone near it the sound gets distorted.

Besides that the Logitech ConferenceCam is a very durable and portable product. Its a great solution for small offices or those that work remote. Its currently $499.00 on the Logitech site and comes in silver or red.
